Just 100 meters from the villa, you'll find one of the lake's most dramatic sights: the Orrido di Nesso, a natural gorge where two rivers merge into a powerful waterfall that plunges into the lake.

Over the centuries, the waterfall and the force of the water have been harnessed to power mills, paper mills, spinning mills, and other workshops in the village, giving a boost to the local economy.

The site also has cultural significance: the Orrido di Nesso is mentioned in Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus.

A short walk leads you there — the sound and view from the old stone bridge are unforgettable.

The Ponte della Civera - a postcard perfect stone bridge

A short walk from the villa takes you to the historic Ponte della Civera, a centuries-old stone arch that spans the mouth of the Orrido di Nesso. Believed to have medieval origins, the bridge once connected the oldest parts of the village and is now one of the most iconic sights on Lake Como.

Its single elegant arch frames the gorge and waterfall below — a truly timeless view.

Boat trips and small harbors

From Nesso's little pier, boats and water taxis connect to Bellagio, Varenna, and Como.
